The ultimate pocket-sized tester for testing the performance and alternator voltage of vehicle-integrated batteries that every maintenance technician and tech should have!
Easy to use! Put the clamps on the battery or connect to an installed SAE battery cable, then do as follows:
Check charge level of battery. A low voltage battery will give weak starting performance.
Start the engine. The OptiMate TEST records and displays (for 20 seconds) the lowest starting voltages.
While the engine is running, check the alternator and voltage regulator starting voltage.
TIP: A low charge voltage causes weak battery performance. Too high a charge voltage causes excessive gassing and ultimately damages the lead-acid battery. Too high a charging voltage is FATAAL for a LiFePO4 starter battery!
Accuracy via microprocessor.
